SENIOR BUYER

We are the largest company in Atlantic Canada dedicated exclusively to material handling equipment; we have been providing our customers with high quality equipment, rentals, parts, training, and service since 1993. With branches located in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, we are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Moncton Branch.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within budget.
• Negotiate long-term and short-term transactions with vendors.
• Review, evaluate and monitor purchase/sales.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of quality goods and services.
• Work with internal stakeholders to manage procurement activities.
• Conduct market research and latest industry trends and software.
• Preparing reports and analyzing data to identify areas for cost savings.
• Manage the day-to-day supplier relationships, including service, delivery, quality and billing issues.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure availability of products and materials while minimizing excess inventory.
• Research and source hard to find items and evaluate suppliers’ price, product and service.
• Prepare procurement packages and RFPs where warranted.
• Administers and maintains the Purchase Order Process.
• Evaluate and select new suppliers.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, supply chain management or a related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a procurement or purchasing role.
• Experience in sourcing, selecting and managing suppliers in a fast=pace environment.
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and develop recommendations.
• Strong negotiation, project management and results oriented skills.
• Ability to cultivate a wide range of internal/external networks.
