BATTERY TECHNICIAN – DARTMOUTH

With branches located in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, we are looking for a Battery Technician in our Dartmouth to join our growing Nova Scotia Team

Reporting to the Service Supervisor you will be responsible for:

 Diagnose and repair batteries and chargers.

  • Maintain mechanical and physical condition of batteries and chargers.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance work.
  • Manage van parts inventory.
  • Maintain customer’s equipment in a cost-effective manner.
  • Respond to customer requests for service as assigned by the Service Dispatcher.
  • Arrive at the customer’s site to determine the nature of the problem requiring repairs.
  • Determine if the parts required for the repairs are on hand.
  • Complete service reports and job timecards.
  • Review service reports with the customer and obtain their authorization with regard to the competition of work.
  • Check with the Service Dispatcher before leaving the customer’s site to determine next customer scheduling.
  • Work and adhere to the Company’s occupational health and safety guidelines.
  • Complete paperwork for the Company’s service revenue billing system on a timely basis.
  • Attend training as directed by the Service Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Service Supervisor and/or the Service Dispatcher.

Skill Requirements:

 

  • Previous experience in an industrial environment considered a strong asset.
  • Previous electrical, diesel, hydraulic and heavy-duty equipment technical experience considered strong assets,
  • Good analytical skills to diagnose problems with minimal supervision,
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with customers in a varied range of situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs at one time.
  • Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to complete paperwork for multiple jobs accurately and timely.
