Section 1

Who we are

Prime Material Handling Inc. is a material handling equipment provider serving Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. We sell, rent and service forklifts, telehandlers, aerial lifts and related construction equipment, and we provide operator training. We have been family-owned and operated since 1994.

We operate from three branches:

  • Dartmouth, NS1 Canal Street, Dartmouth NS, B2Y 2W1
  • Saint John, NB40 Stinson Dr, Saint John, NB E2M 5T6
  • Moncton, NB180 Commerce St, Moncton, NB E1H 2G2

Our main contact line is 1-800-681-1210. This privacy policy covers everything we do on primematerial.com.

Section 2

What information we collect

We try to collect only what we actually need to respond to you and run the site. Concretely, here is what comes in:

Information you give us

When you fill out a quote form, the contact form, or a careers / training form on this site, we collect the information you type in. That typically includes:

  • Your name (first and last on the contact form)
  • Your company name (on the contact form)
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • The equipment or service you're asking about (free-text message field, plus a hidden "requested unit" field on some equipment pages so we know which page you came from)

You can call us at 1-800-681-1210 instead of using a form if you'd rather not type your details into a webpage. Phone calls are not recorded by this website.

Information we collect automatically

When you load any page on primematerial.com, our hosting provider (Vercel) writes the request to a server log — that log contains your IP address, the page you requested, the browser you used (user-agent string), the page that referred you (if any), and the time of the request. That's standard for any website on the internet.

We also set a small number of first-party cookies (see Section 5) to remember where you came from if you clicked one of our Google ads. This lets us measure which ad campaigns are actually producing quote requests.

If we have Google Tag Manager configured at the time you visit, it may load additional analytics tags inside the container — for example Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking. Those tools set their own cookies (for example _ga, _gcl_au). See Section 4 for who they are and what they do.

Section 3

How we use it

We use the information we collect for three things:

  • To respond to you. When you submit a form, we receive your details and reply — usually within 24 hours — either by phone or email depending on what you gave us. If you asked about a specific piece of equipment, we'll quote against that unit.
  • To measure our advertising. If you got here from a Google ad, we record the click ID (gclid) and the campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, etc.) in cookies on your browser. If you later submit a form, those values are sent along with your submission so we can tell Google which ad campaign produced the inquiry. This is standard ad-attribution measurement; it is not used to build a profile of you for advertising purposes.
  • To improve the site. Server logs and (where configured) analytics help us understand which pages people are reading, how fast the site is loading, and where things break.

We do not sell your information. We do not share your submission with other companies for them to market to you. The only third parties involved are the service providers we use to operate the site — listed plainly below.

Section 4

Third parties involved

The site is built and run with help from a small number of outside service providers. Each one is described below with what they do and a link to their own privacy policy if you want more detail.

Vercel — hosting

Vercel hosts primematerial.com. Every page request passes through their servers, and they keep standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, request path, timestamp) as needed to operate the service. Their privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Formspree — form submissions

Quote forms, the contact form, and the careers / training forms post to Formspree, which forwards the contents to our email inbox and stores a copy in their dashboard. The submission includes the visible fields you typed plus the hidden tracking fields (ad click ID, UTM tags, the page you submitted from). Their privacy policy: formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

Google Tag Manager + Google Ads + Google Analytics

When configured, Google Tag Manager loads on every page and runs Google Analytics 4 (to measure traffic) and Google Ads conversion tracking (to measure which ads produced a form submission). Google sets its own cookies for these purposes. Their privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Sanity — content management

The text and images on this site are managed in Sanity, a hosted content management system. Sanity stores the site's content but does not receive your form submissions or analytics data. Their privacy policy: www.sanity.io/legal/privacy.

Each of these providers acts as needed to operate the service. We do not use any of them to share, sell, or rent your information.

Section 5

Cookies in detail

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to remember. Here is exactly what we set on primematerial.com:

Our own cookies (first-party)

  • _pm_gclid — remembers the Google Ads click ID if you arrived from a Google ad. Used to attribute the resulting form submission back to the ad campaign. Expires after 90 days.
  • _pm_utm_source, _pm_utm_medium, _pm_utm_campaign, _pm_utm_term, _pm_utm_content — remember the campaign tagging on the URL you arrived through, for the same attribution purpose. Each expires after 90 days.

Third-party cookies (when configured)

When Google Tag Manager is loaded, Google sets analytics and advertising cookies on your browser — typically _ga, _ga_*, _gid, _gcl_au, _gcl_aw. These are set and read by Google, not by us; their lifetimes vary from a few minutes to about two years. See Google's cookie reference for the complete list and the role of each.

Opting out of cookies

You can clear cookies or block them from your browser settings at any time. If you block our first-party attribution cookies, the site still works normally — you just won't be matched back to an ad campaign if you submit a form. If you block third-party Google cookies, our analytics view of your visit becomes more limited, again without affecting site functionality.

Section 6

How long we keep it

Different kinds of data are kept for different lengths of time:

  • Form submissions: we keep your name, email, phone and message in our email inbox and in the Formspree dashboard for as long as we may need to respond to you and follow up on a quote — there is no fixed expiry. If you want a submission deleted, tell us and we will remove it (see Section 8).
  • Ad-attribution cookies (_pm_gclid and _pm_utm_*): 90 days from the first time you arrive from an ad.
  • Server logs (Vercel): retained per Vercel's standard retention. We do not control or copy these logs ourselves.
  • Google Analytics / Google Ads data:retained per Google's settings on the property; the default is 14 months for event data.

Section 7

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and our hosting is encrypted. Form submissions are transmitted over the same encrypted channel.

No system is perfectly secure. We follow standard practices — encrypted transit, access controls on our inbox and dashboards, and use of reputable service providers — but we cannot guarantee that information sent to us over the internet cannot be intercepted. If you have something genuinely sensitive to tell us, please call us at 1-800-681-1210.

Section 8

Your rights

Under Canadian federal privacy law (the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, or PIPEDA), you have rights over the personal information we hold about you. In plain terms:

  • Access: you can ask us what personal information we have about you and how we've used it.
  • Correction: if anything we hold is wrong, you can ask us to fix it.
  • Deletion: you can ask us to delete a form submission or any other personal information you sent us. We will remove it unless we are legally required to keep it.
  • Withdrawing consent: you can tell us to stop using your information for any of the purposes described in this policy.

To exercise any of these rights, email us using the address in Section 11 or call 1-800-681-1210. We'll respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: priv.gc.ca/en/report-a-concern.

Section 9

Children's privacy

This is a business-to-business site for industrial equipment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you're a parent and you believe a child has sent us information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it.

Section 10

Changes to this policy

If we change how we collect or use information on primematerial.com, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. We'll keep the changes plain and obvious — no buried legalese.

We recommend checking back if you submit a form here regularly (for example, you're a repeat customer using the contact form), so you know what to expect.

Section 11

Contact us about privacy

If you have a question about this policy, want to access, correct, or delete your information, or want to withdraw consent, the fastest path is to email us:
